Poems:
Warmth
How I Wish to feel
All bundled up and cozy
Wrapped up in blankets
Cuddled and held in your arms
Feeling the warmth of your love
Autumn
Colors are changing
Trees are losing all their leaves
Orange is drifting down
Art
The pencils scrawling
Marking up all the pages
The ink is flowing
So are my all of my ideas
Pieces forming from the mind
Depression
Depression sleeps all day
Unmotivated
Uncaring
Not wanting to move
Or interact with the world
For moments as they lie awake
Thoughts run across their mind
Tears across their face
Depression now lie awake
Feeling alone
Afraid to leave
To leave the comfort of home
Of their bed
Once more, the sun rises
Day comes again
Depression sleeps all day
Best Friends
(Lyric Poem)
Friends since day one
Wow, we've had so much fun
Growing up together
Loving you like a sister
All of my phases in life
You were always by my side
Even with all the strife
This friendship never wavered
Friends since day one
Wow, we've had so much fun
Growing up together
Loving you like a sister
You are such rad person
I will certainly miss you
And this feeling will only worsen
Due to college I'm not sure when I'll see you
Friends since day one
Wow, we've had so much fun
Growing up together
Loving you like a sister
I know this isn't the end
This will last a lifetime
Still hoping I'll get letters sent
Remember, everything is going to be fine
Friends since day one
Wow, we've had so much fun
Growing up together
Loving you like a sister

Short Stories
The Aberration
You are jolted awake, very suddenly, like a bolt of electricity. However, you are not immediately sure what awakened you, or for that matter anything at all. You are in your bed, but beyond that you don’t remember much. You drowsily fumble for your phone to help get a grip. To check the time and help gain a sense of reality. You look to your bedside table and grasp for your phone. You gasp sharply for air as your hand phases through the table. You turn and look closely. Your hand passes through the dark oak nightstand as if you were composed of nothing but mist. You quickly jump up, feeling like you're still in a dream. Looking around, checking for familiarity. The photos on your walls, the bookshelf, and closet, it’s all the same.
You want to get out, for everything to go back to normal. You feel scared and out of place. You scream and nothing, you hear no noise at all. Afraid and confused you feel a single tear falls down your cheek. You turn to the door. It’s closed. You reach out in a panic for the handle, but once again your hand simply passes through it. Your face falls, disappointed and losing hope.
Determined and baffled, you bring your hand slowly and cautiously to your door. You bring your finger to the surface and close your eyes. Pushing slowly, but without resistance. Your arm now fully extended, you open your eyes. Your arm disappears past your elbow. Somehow, even though it was exactly what you expected, the sight is extremely shocking. You pull back your arm in astonishment. Then after thinking how crazy all of this is, you try it. You hold your breath, and take a step forward. You open your eyes, and exhale, to see yourself in your hallway, right outside your room. The bathroom on the right. The stairs to upstairs on your left. Now that you’re out of the room, still confused and bewildered, you are determined. Determined to find out what's happening.
You walk upstairs, turn the corner. You walk into the kitchen nothing changed, the dining room, everything unmoved. Everything seems too untouched. Why are you the only one that seems so out of place. You finally walk into the living room, at a loss as you decide to plop down on the couch. You sit and stumble, falling right through the couch. You get back to your feet and notice a box on the table. Inside you notice a couple items of yours. A few mementos that mean a lot to you. The necklace from your beloved boyfriend, as well as the corsage from prom. An amethyst from a dear friend, a collar from your old cat, and a stuffed animal from your childhood. Lastly, the box contained a handwritten letter. It looks familiar, and yet you didn't remember it. you picked it up, surprisingly, was actually able to hold it in your hands.
Dear family, friends, and loved ones,
I want to apologise, I love you all, but I am unable to continue in this life. As you all know I have struggled with depression for years. Recently, it has not been worth it for me to continue. I want you all to know that it is not your fault. None of you should blame yourselves, for I do not. My anxiety has been overwhelming, and I need to bid you all farewell. I take my own life not out of anger but out of exhaustion. I am tired and I no longer wish to stay here..
Mom- I am very sorry that I have left. You are a wonderful mother, never think otherwise.
Father- Don’t be upset, or disappointed. And don’t beat yourself up about it. I will always treasure our memories, playing sports and climbing trees.
Macey- We’ve been friends since day one, quite literally. I love you my friend, and I always will. I wish you joy and luck in your future. I’m sorry I have chosen to leave.
Kyle- You know that I love you, and I wish I was able to stay with you forever. But Kyle, I need you to move on. And I know that you will, you’ll find someone else, someone that makes you happy.
~However I have made my choice, I must not have this continuing battle with myself. Whether I should continue living for small moments or leave.
-Emma
The handwriting, it was yours. And yet you have absolutely no recollection of writing it. It was a suicide note. Had you really gone through with it? Sure, life was rough at times. Your anxiety and depression was an ongoing struggle. Going to school had been rough, grades were slipping and the thought of college had been torturous. You were scared, and were looking for an escape. It looks like you found one.
Seeing all the names, thinking of all the memories, it is hard. You drop the letter and sob, you gave up, and you regret it.
The door opens, and they all start pouring in. Your family, your friends, your loved ones. Your mom and dad walk in, solemn. Dressed in black. They have all just returned from your own funeral. Or “celebration of life” as they have called it. Behind them walked none other than Macey, and Kyle. You stand there, your vision still blurry from crying. You stand, staring. Hoping, wishing that they could see you, and hug you. Tell you that everything is alright. However, sadly, it does not happen. No one even sees you. Kyle, is comforting Macey. They sit on the couch, Mayce still sniffling. Kyle looks like he is still in shock. Your mother's red hair is pulled back, she grabs the note in the box and hands it to Macey and Kyle. It looks like they have yet to read it. Your mom’s hand is shaking, and your dad stood behind her, holding her. Meanwhile your boyfriend and best friend are reading your suicide note. As Mayce reads it, she smiled, remembering your old times together. Then, her joy fades, her face look pained. Kyle clenches his jaw, takes a deep breath. He breaks, he begins to cry. You have never seen him cry like this. You want nothing more than to comfort him, to hold him and kiss him. This guilt you are feeling was overwhelming. You want so badly to turn back the clock, to undo what you have done. But you knew you could not.
